PERMISSION FOR USE OF MEASURES
A wide variety of instruments which have been used in communication research are provided in this section. If the reference for any measure is to someone other than Jason S. Wrench, you need to contact that author, or the publisher of the book/journal in which the scale appeared, to gain permission to use the instrument.
Obtaining permission to use instruments developed (and copyrighted) Jason S. Wrench is described below:
1). If you are a college or university student or faculty member engaged in research which has no external financial support, and is not to be published in an outlet which generates income (a dissertation, a thesis, an article for a communication journal, a free hand-out to be given to students, etc.), this statement should be taken as formal permission for you to duplicate and use these instruments in your work. There is no royalty or additional permission required for such use.
2). If you are a college or university student or faculty member engaged in grant-supported research, research for an external organization, or in any other way being financially supported by any individual or organization other than yourself or your academic department, specific permission from Jason S. Wrench must be obtained prior to the use of any of these instruments. To obtain permission you should contact either developer via email at JasonSWrench@aol.com.
3). If you wish to reproduce any of these instruments in a book, workbook, or other publication designed for sale, specific permission Jason S. Wrench is required. There will be a royalty fee of $ 0.25 (25 cents) charged for each copy of the publication sold (minimum charge of $25.00). Alternatives to the per-copy fee can be negotiated.
4). If you wish to reproduce any of these measures for distribution to and completion by employees, customers, clients, etc., or in any other way use the instrument in ways not covered in items 1, 2, or 3 above, specific permission from Jason S. Wrench is required. There will be a per-copy royalty fee of $0.25 (25 cents, minimum charge of $25.00). Alternatives to the per-copy fee can be negotiated.
5). For any clients of Road Speakers, Inc., these fees may be waived by a consulting contract.
Any questions concerning permission to use these instruments not covered in the above descriptions should be directed in email to JasonSWrench@aol.com.
